  • Chopin's Winter Wind - played

    • From: nalarsen
    • Description:

Anna Larsen (age 8) performs Chopin's Winter Wind etude.  This piece sounds like a brutal winter wind set to music.  The furious cascading notes in the right hand are set against a mournful tune in the left.  This piece is extremely challenging - 2100 notes blow through the right hand in about 4.5 minutes!   It is a feat of both memory and musical ability for any pianist, let alone an eight year old.

  • Simone Townsend-13 years old

    • From: sitoria
    • Description:
Simone began singing at the age of 8, when she was asked to compete in a local pageant. We thought that would be good because just 6 months prior she was hospitalized and diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes as well as her dad being in Afghanistan for a 1 year tour of duty. We had to figure out a talent, and she thought about dancing and we said maybe. Then she thought mom I want to sing, I said, "sing what", she said "my favorite song, Part of Your World"? I said, "Do you know the song," she said, "yes". So she sang the whole song and I was amazed she sang it all in tune. She won her first pageant and won the talent competition. The rest is history. She has performed at the Chicago Gospel Fest, in talent competitions and sang the Star Spangled Banner all around Illinois. She was also lead soloist for her schools gospel choir. Her most memorable and most difficult time singing was when she was asked to sing at her classmates funeral, which was a double funeral with her grandmother. As tears rolled down her face she belted out Amazing Grace, so if given the opportunity to sing for you this would be in memory of her classmate and friend who loved to hear her sing.

    • From: ebernard12
    • Description:
Eddie is an 8-year-old baseball whiz kid. He can name every player in Major League Baseball! Yes, all 750 of them! Funny enough, no one in his family even watches baseball. Apparently, Eddie has been blessed with a photographic memory, especially when it comes to his favorite sport. Eddie loves to read and starts each day checking out the baseball box scores in the local newspaper. He loves to see how his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves are doing. The Braves even named Eddie “Honorary Captain” at one of their home games and he got to meet all the players, including his favorite, 3rd baseman Chipper Jones! Eddie’s amazing gift has been featured on CNN and Fox television broadcasts. He’s also been quizzed on radio sports shows and even live at an Atlanta Braves game…and of course, he answered every question correctly! When it comes to baseball, Eddie is truly in a league of his own! Check out www.eddielovesbaseball.com for more videos and articles about Eddie the Baseball Whiz Kid!
